TRUE SYMPHONIC ROCKESTRA Mastermind Explains Album Delay

February 12, 2008

TRUE SYMPHONIC ROCKESTRA, the international opera-oriented project featuring contributions from DREAM THEATER frontman James LaBrie, will release its long-awaited album on March 28 via a co-operation between Brainrox Records in Germany and Marinsound in Russia.

Check out audio samples of the tracks "Granada", "Nessun Dorma" and "Libiamo" at this location.

Dirk Ulrich, the mastermind/producer behind TRUE SYMPHONIC ROCKESTRA, has issued the following update:

"So, WHY did it take us sooo long to be able to let you hear this album? Well, besides the music business in general being quite complicated and sloooow, there is a DAMN GOOD reason for this, With the music industry changing a lot these days, we have decided to start our own label (a cooperation of Brainrox Records and Marinsound Records) — with the TSR album being the first international release on this new label! The CD will be out on SonyBMG distribution in Germany, Austria and Switzerland — and we have found partners in many other territories already. Foreign distribution inquiries (USA / Asia) still welcome! Of course, the album will also be available for download through all major download services, and we'll sell and ship albums worldwide through [through the Internet] as well. So, anyone interested in this album WILL be able to get it."

When the TRUE SYMPHONIC ROCKESTRA concept was started back in 2000, the basic idea behind it was to get three world-class singers to perform the "best of" repertoire of the original 3 TENORS (Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, José Carreras) ... in ROCK versions!

The forthcoming TSR release features LaBrie and the two world-famous classical tenors Thomas Dewald and Vladimir Grishko as "THE 3 ROCK TENORS."

Although mixing classical and rock music has already been done before in the past, the people behind this new recording believe that the TSR project "is a new and unique combination of these two forces and probably the first time ever to feature two world-class classical tenors and one of the most respected voices in rock on one entire album!"
